Awareness & Involvement

We believe in supporting every effort to increase sustainability and increase awareness of the issues surrounding the topic, especially when it comes to the seas.

Fish4Ever is the only non-NGO committee and founder member of Sustainable Fish City, an initiative led by Sustain to promote sustainable choices especially in catering.

Universities, schools, the Houses of Parliament, even prisons (check on site) have signed up to offer more sustainable fish choices. The 2012 London Olympics and now Rio have signed up to the same commitments.

International Pole &
Line Foundation (IPLF)

Large charities just buddy up to big business thinking that is how to make big change but this approach fails to ask many of the fundamental questions about how our food is produced and delivered, who benefits, who suffers and what needs to really change.

Our whole philosophy at Fish4Ever is about supporting the small businesses in the food chain and we are an active participant in Slow Foods and Slow Fish.

Sustainable Seafood Coalition

"We were a founder member of the Sustainable Seafood Coalition and worked for over two years around the thorny topic of defining sustainability in both farmed and wild fish. SSC members are mostly the biggest UK retailers and fish processors. We have the dubious distinction of being the only member to have resigned and refused to sign up because we felt a pre-defined industrial version of sustainability was being pushed that worked against many of our core beliefs.” An Industry advisor to the Marine Conservation Society Fish to Eat/Avoid list.

We have good contacts and support in all these organisations as well as within Greenpeace, SlowFoods, Seafood Choices Alliance and the Sustainable Pole&Line Foundation.

La Pirogue, a Senegalese film which tells the story of how local fishing boats are used for the arduous illegal immigration route across to the Canary Islands and the “Eldorado” that is Europe.

Red-Gold against the proposed Pebble Mine open caste mine project in Alaska.

The End of the Line.

We organised the premieres of Food Inc and Symphony of the Soil at the Whitechapel Gallery and the Soho Curzon. The two films are about the food supply more generally.

2 Ecocide trial with focus on fishing- publicity campaign to make ecological mis-management a crime.

We participate in talks, conferences and campaigns around the themes of marine sustainability as well as sustainability more widely.
